KRYTAR 6–67GHz Millimeter-Wave Directional Couplers
KRYTAR 6–67GHz Millimeter-Wave Directional Couplers
KRYTAR 106067-series directional couplers cover the ultra-wide frequency range from 6 to 67 GHz, supporting microwave and millimeter-wave signal sampling with one compact component. The series spans the C, X, Ku, K, Ka, Q, U and lower V bands, making it suitable for broadband test systems that must operate beyond the 40 GHz limit of conventional 2.4 mm and 2.92 mm couplers.
Available nominal coupling values include 6, 10, 16, 20 and 30 dB. All models use 1.85 mm female connectors and support 20 W average input power.

KRYTAR 6–67GHz Coupler Model Comparison
| Model | Frequency Range | Nominal Coupling | Frequency Sensitivity | Maximum Insertion Loss | Minimum Directivity | Maximum VSWR | Connector |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KRYTAR 106067006 | 6–67 GHz | 6 ±2.5 dB | ±1.5 dB | Less than 4.40 dB | Greater than 10 dB | 1.8 | 1.85 mm female |
| KRYTAR 106067010 | 6–67 GHz | 10 ±1.5 dB | ±1.5 dB | Less than 2.70 dB | Greater than 7.25 dB | 1.9 | 1.85 mm female |
| KRYTAR 106067016 | 6–67 GHz | 16 ±1.1 dB | ±2.0 dB | Less than 1.95 dB | Greater than 7.25 dB | 1.9 | 1.85 mm female |
| KRYTAR 106067020 | 6–67 GHz | 20 ±1.5 dB | ±1.5 dB | Less than 1.70 dB | Greater than 7.25 dB | 1.9 | 1.85 mm female |
| KRYTAR 106067030 | 6–67 GHz | 30 ±1.5 dB | ±1.5 dB | Less than 1.70 dB | Greater than 7.25 dB | 1.9 | 1.85 mm female |
Insertion loss values include the power intentionally transferred from the main line to the coupled port. Therefore, the relatively high insertion loss of the 6 dB model does not represent dissipative loss alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which KRYTAR directional couplers cover 6–67 GHz?
The KRYTAR 106067006, 106067010, 106067016, 106067020 and 106067030 cover 6–67 GHz with nominal coupling values from 6 to 30 dB.
Which connector is used by the 106067 series?
The standard models use 1.85 mm female connectors suitable for millimeter-wave test and system applications extending to 67 GHz.
Which model samples approximately 1% of the input power?
The KRYTAR 106067020 is a 20 dB directional coupler and ideally samples approximately 1% of the main-line power.
Can these couplers be used above 50 GHz?
Yes. The series is specified up to 67 GHz. The cables, adapters, calibration standards, power sensors and test instruments must also support the required operating frequency.
Can a 2.92 mm cable be used directly with these couplers?
The 106067 series uses 1.85 mm connectors. Do not assume direct compatibility with a 2.92 mm interface. Use a correctly specified millimeter-wave adapter and verify the frequency, power and VSWR ratings of the complete connection.
