Delta EFB0412VHD-R00 12V 40mm Cooling Fan

The EFB0412VHD-R00 is a compact DC axial cooling fan from Delta Electronics’ EFB series. It operates from a nominal 12V DC supply and uses a 40 × 40 × 20mm square frame with a ball-bearing system.

At a maximum speed of 9,000 RPM, the fan delivers up to 10.10 CFM airflow and 0.416 inchH₂O static pressure. Its compact dimensions and pressure capability make it suitable for servers, network equipment, embedded computers, power supplies and other space-constrained electronic systems.

The R00 version has three lead wires and includes a locked-rotor sensor, allowing the host system to detect when the fan has stopped or cannot rotate normally. It does not provide PWM speed control. 

Technical Specifications

Airflow and static pressure are maximum values measured at different points on the fan performance curve. Actual airflow depends on the resistance of the equipment’s heat sink, grille, filter and internal ventilation path.

Locked-Rotor Sensor Function

The third lead wire on the EFB0412VHD-R00 provides a locked-rotor detection signal. This function can help the equipment controller identify conditions such as:

The host system can use this signal to generate a cooling alarm, shut down equipment or activate a redundant fan.

A locked-rotor sensor is not the same as a tachometer output. It is intended primarily to indicate whether the fan is rotating or locked, rather than provide continuous RPM measurement. The signal interface and pin assignment should be checked against the fan specification and equipment circuit before installation.

Compact High-Speed Cooling

The 40 × 40 × 20mm frame allows the EFB0412VHD-R00 to fit into equipment where installation space is limited. Compared with thinner 40 × 40 × 10mm fans, its 20mm depth supports stronger pressure performance for restrictive airflow paths.
