RFQ

The Narda-MITEQ 4012C-10 is a miniature stripline coaxial directional coupler covering 1 to 2 GHz. It provides a nominal coupling value of 10 dB, 25 dB minimum directivity, and low VSWR on both the primary and secondary lines.

The 4012C-10 uses precision SMA female connectors and supports up to 50 W average input power under the manufacturer’s specified source and load matching conditions. Its compact connectorized design makes it suitable for RF signal sampling, forward-power monitoring, test equipment, communication systems, and other L-band applications.

Understanding the Insertion-Loss Specifications

The Narda-MITEQ datasheet provides two insertion-loss values for the 4012C-10:

Insertion-Loss ParameterMaximum Value
Insertion loss excluding coupled power0.20 dB
True insertion loss0.90 dB

The 0.20 dB value represents dissipative loss after excluding the power intentionally transferred to the coupled port. The 0.90 dB true insertion loss includes the effect of the nominal 10 dB coupling factor and is the appropriate value when evaluating the total through-line power reduction.

Typical Applications

  • Forward RF power monitoring

  • L-band communication systems

  • Radar and telemetry equipment

  • RF signal sampling

  • Transmitter monitoring and protection

  • Antenna and feeder-line testing

  • Signal generators and network analyzers

  • Laboratory RF measurement systems
