The CINCON CRT60W12 and CRT100W12 are enclosed, chassis-mount DC-DC converter modules designed for railway power systems. Both accept a 14.4–160VDC input, allowing one converter family to support common 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 96V and 110V railway battery systems.

The CRT60W12 is optimized for 60W, 24V loads, while the CRT100W12 provides up to 100W with 12V, 24V and 48V output options.

CRT60W12: 60W Output for 24V Railway Loads

The CRT60W12 is available with a regulated 24V output rated at 2.5A. It is the more economical choice when the load does not exceed 60W and no 12V or 48V output is required.

Main part numbers include:

CRT60W12-72S24EC: 24V output with positive remote logic

CRT60W12-72S24ECN: 24V output with negative remote logic

According to the current datasheet, the CRT60W12 supports EN 50155 Class S3 interruption and Class C1 supply changeover performance with Criteria A, without an external hold-up capacitor.

Typical uses include railway control electronics, passenger information displays, communication equipment, monitoring systems and auxiliary 24V loads.

CRT100W12: Higher Power and More Output Options

The CRT100W12 increases output power to 100W without increasing the chassis dimensions. It also provides three regulated output choices:

Which Module Should You Choose?

Choose CRT60W12 when:

The load requires 60W or less.

A regulated 24V output is sufficient.

EN 50155 Class S3 interruption performance is required.

A simpler positive- or negative-logic configuration is preferred.

Choose CRT100W12 when:

The load requires more than 60W.

A 12V or 48V output is needed.

Higher efficiency of up to 92% is beneficial.

Redundant operation with an optional ORing FET is required.

Optional protective coating is needed.

For a 24V load below 60W, the CRT60W12 is normally the more appropriate choice. For higher current, additional output-voltage options or redundant power architectures, select the CRT100W12.

FAQ

Do both modules support 14.4–160VDC input?

Yes. The latest CINCON datasheets specify a 14.4–160VDC operating input range for both series.

Can the CRT60W12 replace the CRT100W12?

Only when the load is 24V and does not exceed 2.5A or 60W. The CRT60W12 cannot supply the higher current available from the CRT100W12.

Are the CRT60W12 and CRT100W12 the same size?

Yes. Both use a 5.09 × 2.28 × 1.35-inch enclosed chassis-mount package and weigh approximately 325g.

Which model supports redundant power operation?

The CRT100W12 offers optional ORing FET configurations for redundant power systems. Verify the complete suffix before ordering.

Do these converters require a heatsink?

They are baseplate-cooled modules. Available power depends on input voltage, ambient temperature, mounting surface and airflow, so the CINCON derating curves must be checked during thermal design.
