KJA6T9F35PN ITT Cannon 6-Position D38999 Series III Plug

The ITT Cannon KJA6T9F35PN is an environmentally resistant straight cable plug for aerospace, defense and industrial equipment. It uses the 9-35 insert arrangement with six male crimp contacts and a normal polarization position.

Its triple-start threaded coupling, scoop-proof interface and electroless-nickel aluminum shell make it suitable for signal connections exposed to vibration, temperature changes and electromagnetic interference.

Core Advantages

  • Secure connection under vibration: The threaded self-locking coupling helps prevent unintended loosening in aircraft and mobile equipment.

  • Compact six-circuit interface: The 9-35 arrangement provides six signal contacts in the smallest KJA shell size.

  • Harsh-environment construction: The sealed metal shell supports high-temperature operation, EMI protection and repeated mating.

KJA connectors are commercial D38999-style products. If a project requires a DLA-qualified QPL/QML connector, verify the required military part number and qualification status before ordering.

Contact and Cable Selection

The 9-35 insert contains six size 22D contacts. Wire size, insulation diameter and contact part number must be matched before cable assembly.

Confirm the following:

  • Conductor gauge and insulation outside diameter

  • Pin-contact part number supplied with the connector

  • Required crimp tool, positioner and insertion/extraction tool

  • Cable shield termination method

  • Backshell type and cable-entry diameter

  • Heat-shrink boot or strain-relief requirements

An M22520-compatible crimp tool is normally required for size 22D machined contacts. Use the contact-specific locator specified by ITT Cannon rather than selecting a tool only by wire gauge.

Mating Connector Selection

KJA6T9F35PN requires a shell-size 9 receptacle with the 9-35 insert, female socket contacts and compatible polarization.

Recommended ModelConnector StyleInstallation
KJA0T9F35SNWall-mount receptacle, socket contactsEquipment panel or enclosure
KJA7T9F35SNJam-nut receptacle, socket contactsBulkhead installation
KJA0T9W35SNWall-mount receptacle with olive-drab cadmium finishApplications using W-finish hardware
KJA7T9W35SNJam-nut receptacle with olive-drab cadmium finishMilitary cable and bulkhead assemblies

The mating connector must use the same 9-35 insert arrangement and N polarization. Different polarization codes will not mate, even when the shell size and contact arrangement are identical.

Backshell and Accessory Selection

KJA6T9F35PN is supplied without an integrated rear accessory. A separate Series III backshell is normally selected according to the cable construction and environmental requirements.

Common accessory choices include:

  • Straight strain-relief backshell

  • 90-degree cable-entry backshell

  • EMI/RFI shield-termination backshell

  • Environmental sealing backshell

  • Heat-shrink boot adapter

  • Protective cap

The backshell must match the Series III accessory interface and shell size 9. Cable diameter, shield termination, exit angle and required environmental sealing should be confirmed before ordering.

Applications

KJA6T9F35PN is suitable for:

  • Aircraft wiring systems

  • Avionics control equipment

  • Military communication systems

  • Radar and navigation equipment

  • UAV electronic assemblies

  • Ground-support equipment

  • Armored and military vehicles

  • Engine monitoring systems

  • Harsh-environment sensors

  • Industrial control systems exposed to vibration
