The Eaton SOURIAU 847/848 Series is a family of robust circular power connectors designed for reliable power distribution in light-duty and harsh-environment applications. Featuring a bayonet coupling mechanism, crimp contacts and multiple shell configurations, the series is suitable for military ground equipment, heavy weapons, industrial machinery and other systems requiring secure electrical connections.

Depending on the selected contact layout, the 847/848 Series supports single-phase or three-phase power transmission with current ratings of up to 63A. Pilot and grounding contacts are also available for applications requiring enhanced electrical safety and connection monitoring.

847 Series and 848 Series

The two series mainly differ in shell material and surface treatment.

SOURIAU 847 Series

The 847 Series is available with steel shells and several plating options, including olive-green cadmium and white cadmium. A bronze version may also be available for specific environmental or marine applications.

SOURIAU 848 Series

The 848 Series uses an aluminum shell with environmentally friendly black zinc nickel plating. This finish provides up to 500 hours of salt spray resistance while offering a lightweight and corrosion-resistant alternative to traditional cadmium-plated connectors.

The black zinc nickel version is particularly suitable for applications requiring RoHS-compatible materials and reliable performance in corrosive environments.

The connectors provide a dielectric withstand voltage of 2,000V for shell sizes 2 and 4, and 2,500V for shell size 5.
