Description: Regulated non-isolated DC-DC converter with model-dependent 6–72VDC input, 3.3V to 24V output, up to 1A output current and up to 95% efficiency.
The CINCON NCS01W8 series provides a high-efficiency switching alternative to conventional LM78xx linear regulators. Its compact SIP-3 footprint makes it suitable for new designs and upgrades where power loss, heat generation or limited linear-regulator input voltage creates a design constraint.
The series covers six regulated output voltages and delivers between 3.3W and 16.8W. The minimum input voltage depends on the selected output model; only the 3.3V version supports operation from 6VDC.

1. Is the NCS01W8 an isolated DC-DC converter?
No. NCS01W8 is non-isolated, so the input and output share a common ground.
2. Do all NCS01W8 models operate from 6V?
No. Only the 3.3V model supports a 6V minimum input. The 5V model requires at least 8V, while higher-output versions require progressively higher minimum input voltages.
3. Can NCS01W8 replace an LM7805 directly?
The NCS01W8-48S050 uses an LM78xx-compatible pin arrangement and provides a regulated 5V output. However, the 8–72V input range, external components, PCB footprint, switching noise and thermal conditions must be checked before replacement.
4. What does the P suffix mean?
The P suffix identifies the plastic-shell version. Models without the P suffix use a metal shell with additional case-ground pins.
5. What is the maximum output current?
The 3.3V, 5V, 9V, 12V and 15V models supply up to 1A. The 24V model supplies up to 0.7A, providing a maximum output power of 16.8W.
