RFQ

The KRYTAR 2611 is a four-port directional coupler designed for broadband RF signal sampling and power monitoring from 1.7 to 26.5GHz. This range covers portions of the L band and the complete S, C, X, Ku and K microwave bands.

The 2611 combines 10dB nominal coupling with controlled frequency sensitivity across its operating range. Its compact connectorized package supports installation in RF test systems, radar equipment, satellite communication platforms and electronic warfare applications where space and broadband performance are important.

Using the KRYTAR 2611 for Signal Monitoring

The KRYTAR 2611 samples a controlled portion of the signal passing through its main transmission line. With 10dB nominal coupling, the coupled-port signal is approximately one-tenth of the main-line power under nominal conditions.

This coupling level is useful when a relatively strong sample signal is required by a power meter, detector, spectrum analyzer or monitoring circuit. The selected measurement instrument must be able to handle the expected coupled-port power.

System calculations should include coupling tolerance, frequency sensitivity, cable loss and connector loss. The isolated port should be connected to a suitable 50Ω termination when it is not used.

KRYTAR 2611 vs 2610

The KRYTAR 2611 and 2610 both provide 10dB coupling and operate up to 26.5GHz, but they are not identical.

Choose the 2610 when operation between 1.0 and 1.7GHz is required. The 2611 is shorter and offers different directivity, frequency-sensitivity and VSWR specifications over its 1.7 to 26.5GHz operating range.

Mechanical dimensions and system calibration should be checked before replacing one model with the other.
