Product Description

UMS CHX and CHU series MMIC frequency multipliers provide output-frequency coverage from 16 to 77 GHz. Available multiplication ratios include X2, X3, X4 and X6, supporting microwave and millimeter-wave local oscillator generation in communication, radar and frequency-conversion systems.

The CHX series includes cascadable frequency doublers, triplers and quadruplers in Die or QFN packages. The CHU2277 and CHU3377 are multifunction W-band devices integrating frequency multiplication and amplification for 76–77 GHz radar applications.

Selection and Applications

For output frequencies below 26 GHz, CHX2089-99F and the CHX2090 family provide X2 multiplication for Ku-, K- and lower Ka-band LO chains. The CHX2090-99F is supplied as a Die, while CHX2090-QDG offers a packaged SMD alternative.

For 33–43.5 GHz output generation, designers can select CHX1191-98F/QDG, CHX1162-QDG, CHX2091-99F or CHX2092a99F according to the required input band and multiplication ratio. CHX1162-QDG and CHX1191-QDG integrate buffers in standard surface-mount packages and are intended for communication and E-band LO-chain designs.

For 76–77 GHz automotive and industrial radar, CHU2277-99F/CHU2277a98F accept a 38 GHz input and provide X2 multiplication. CHU3377-98F uses an overall X6 architecture, allowing a lower 12.67–12.83 GHz input signal.
