Product Description

UMS reflective RF switches cover applications from DC to 26 GHz. The portfolio includes broadband SPDT switches for signal routing and a K-band SP4T switch for multi-channel selection.

Different models are available for low insertion loss, wide bandwidth, high input-power handling or hermetic packaging. Typical uses include radar, electronic warfare, instrumentation, communication equipment and microwave front-end modules.

Product Selection and Applications

Low-Loss DC–4GHz Switching

The CHS5104-99F and CHS5105-QAG offer similar RF performance. Select the CHS5104-99F for bare-die integration or the CHS5105-QAG when a QFN-packaged device is preferred. Both are based on UMS GaAs pHEMT technology.

Hermetic DC–6GHz Switching

The CHS5104-FAB uses a hermetic metal-ceramic SMD package and is intended for space, military and communication systems requiring packaged construction and extended DC–6 GHz coverage.

High-Power Broadband Switching

The CHS7012-99F and CHS8618-99F are GaN-on-SiC reflective SPDT switches designed for higher input-power handling. The CHS7012-99F supports broadband operation beginning at DC, while the CHS8618-99F targets microwave systems operating across 6–18 GHz.

Ultra-Wideband and K-Band Options

The CHS5100-99F is suitable for broadband signal routing, ECM, electronic warfare, instrumentation and wideband signal-processing equipment. The CHS2411-QDG provides four selectable RF paths for 23–26 GHz K-band systems and is supplied in a 4 × 4 mm QFN package.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Which UMS switch offers the lowest insertion loss?

The CHS5104-99F and CHS5105-QAG provide the lowest listed insertion loss in this group. The main selection difference is Die versus QFN packaging.

Q2: Which model supports the highest input power?

The CHS8618-99F has the highest listed input P-1dB, followed by the CHS7012-99F. Both use GaN-on-SiC technology and are supplied as bare Die.

Q3: What is the difference between CHS5104-99F and CHS5104-FAB?

The CHS5104-99F is a DC–4 GHz bare-die switch, while the CHS5104-FAB extends operation to DC–6 GHz and uses a hermetic metal-ceramic SMD package.

Q4: Which model covers DC to 20GHz?

The CHS5100-99F is the widest-band switch beginning at DC, making it suitable for broadband measurement, signal-processing and electronic-warfare systems.

Q5: Which product provides more than two RF paths?

The CHS2411-QDG is a reflective SP4T switch with four selectable outputs. The other listed products are reflective SPDT switches.
