SOURIAU UTG Industrial Circular Connectors Introduction

SOURIAU  UTG Series connectors are economical, lightweight industrial circular connectors designed for machinery, automation, transportation, instrumentation and other applications requiring reliable cable connections.

The UTG Series combines an engineering-plastic housing with a metal bayonet coupling ring. Its 1/3-turn locking system provides quick connection and an audible click to confirm that the plug and receptacle are correctly mated. Compared with an all-metal connector, this metal-and-plastic construction reduces weight while retaining a durable coupling interface.

UTG connectors are part of the Eaton SOURIAU TRIM TRIO platform. They use interchangeable contacts and selected configurations can mate with UTS and UTO connectors, making it easier to upgrade an existing system without changing the panel cutout or wiring process. Eaton specifies up to 500 mating cycles, IP65 protection and a typical operating range of −40°C to +105°C for the series.

UTG Connector Styles

Square Flange Receptacle

Square flange receptacles mount to an equipment enclosure or control panel. They are normally identified by the body code UTG0.

In-Line Receptacle

In-line receptacles are used for cable-to-cable connections. They are identified by the body code UTG1 and do not require panel mounting.

An in-line receptacle can be paired with a UTG6 cable plug to create a removable harness connection.

Cable Plug

Selected UTG, UTS and UTO connectors can be intermateable when the shell size, insert layout, contact gender and orientation match. Environmental performance remains determined by the complete mated pair, so replacing only one half does not automatically upgrade the system to a higher IP rating.
