RFQ

The KRYTAR 2630 is a compact directional coupler covering the 1.0 to 26.5GHz frequency range, including the L, S, C, X, Ku and K bands. It provides 30dB nominal coupling for sampling and monitoring RF signals while allowing most of the input power to continue through the main transmission path.

Its ultra-broadband stripline design is suitable for systems that require external leveling, forward-power monitoring, signal sampling or swept transmission and reflection measurements. Standard 3.5mm female connectors support integration into broadband RF test setups, radar equipment, SATCOM systems and electronic warfare platforms.

How the KRYTAR 2630 Is Used

The main transmission line carries the RF signal between the input and output ports. A controlled portion of that signal is transferred to the coupled port at a nominal level of 30dB below the main-line signal.

For example, a 30dB coupling factor provides a coupled signal approximately 1,000 times lower in power than the signal being sampled. The actual measurement setup must also account for coupling tolerance, frequency sensitivity, cable loss and the power limits of the connected instrument.

The unused isolated port should be terminated with a suitable 50Ω load rated for the expected frequency and power conditions.

The coupling value should be selected according to the input power and the signal level required by the receiver, power meter, spectrum analyzer or monitoring circuit. Connector type, insertion loss, directivity, dimensions and calibration requirements must also be checked before replacing one model with another.
